I have lived in the Chamblee area for over 36 years. In my younger days, my family moved to Huntley Hills as it was being built. I attended Huntley Hills Elementary and graduated from Chamblee High School in 1973, and Georgia State University in 1977.
Since moving back into the neighborhood twenty years ago with my own family, I have been active in trying to moderate some of the fast paced development to maintain the character, diversity and livability of the area.
The election in November for city council is my way of offering an alternative for those who think the city is moving too quickly in the wrong direction.
With three city council seats up for grab in the November election, there is a real chance to affect the direction of the city, especially future zoning and new development.
I have seen the city progress at a pace I think is unsustainable due to issues with traffic, schools and quality of life. Of course, progress cannot be stopped, it just has to be guided with a sense of retaining the charm and character that drew us to Chamblee in the first place.
Make Chamblee quaint again, with hope and change.
It's easy. If you are not registered to vote, register online here by October 7, 2019 for the election on November 5, 2019. If you are going to be absent during the election, request an absentee ballet.
If you don't like the way the city has been progressing, vote for the candidates that don't have "Incumbent" after their names.
Of course if you like the way things are going, the current council members are identified with "Incumbent" after their names.
I am fully funding my own campaign for Chamblee city council, and will not be accepting contributions, If you wish to help, please tell 2 people about the election and remind them to vote on November 5, 2019.
